MADD Awards Officer Lockwood with Enforcement Hero Award

On July 24th, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) presented Officer Nikki Lockwood with an Enforcement Hero Award, which applauds her dedication to getting drunk drivers off the street.

Officer Lockwood joined the Southlake Police Department in August of 2017 after graduating from Texas Wesleyan University.  Upon graduating from the Tarrant County College Police Academy in January of 2018, she has been very dedicated to SWI enforcement and ensuring the safety of the motoring public throughout the city of Southlake.  There have even been several occasions where she has made multiple DWI arrests during the same shift.

For the 2018 calendar year, the Southlake Police Department made a total of 134 DWI arrests and Officer Lockwood was responsible for 24 (18%) of those arrests.  She continually looks for ways to increase her experience and knowledge in DWI enforcement by reading the latest literature and case law, and seeking guidance from other officers who share her passion.

Officer Lockwood looks forward to becoming an SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Testing) instructor so she can teach the next generation of law enforcement professionals the nuances and importance of DWI enforcement.
